This card was made for my mom's friend who passed away of cancer last week. She loved red flowers. I helped my mom create this card using the Fun Flowers Bigz die for the Big Shot. She had never used the Fun Flower Die before so I showed her a couple ways to created beautiful flowers.

Guest Puncher Anita - ATV Punch Art

Hello. Today I am show casing my mom's work. Here she designed an ATV (all terrain vehicle) all out of Stampin' Up! punches! This was made for her "man friend" (boyfriend just sound weird at their age, lol). He celebrated his 72nd birthday on Saturday. He loves to ride his ATV on his ranch with his dog Deli. The background looks just like his property. She really is amazing with classic ink and sponge daubers. Make sure to leave her a comment...she loves them!

I decided to invest in the Build a Bear Dies that Stampin' Up! exclusively sells. I did a very small workshop for a mom and her adorable daughter on Saturday night. I demo'd this card and then let them make their own bears using designer paper. My boys saw how much fun we were having so they asked if they could make some too.....um...but of course!!! My friend asked me to make her a card for a Bridal Shower luncheon she will be attending. The colors of the wedding are earth tones and green tones. The bride and groom both love birds. I choose Early Espresso as by base, added Always Artichoke as a layer along with Paisley Petals Designer Paper. For the Wedding dress I used the Big Shot and the Bigz scallop circle. Then embossed with Manhattan Flower. Next I cut it out to look like a dress, added some ribbon and pearls. On the inside I used the extra large two step bird punch as well as the boho flower punch and a large white brad for the center of the flower. Hope she likes it.

Dragonfly Top Note Box Recap

Hello. I received a couple comments and quite a few emails asking how to make the top note box. The first time I made the box was for a club project I did for Mothers Day. You can see that by scrolling down on the right side bar to "Club Projects". The original template for the box came from Kerin @ Stamps, Paper, Glitter from a box she did in March 2009. Click here to see her template.

After making the box I cut my cardstock and glued on designer paper then ran it through the Big Shot using the Top Note Die. I used sticky strip to attached the top note to the top and bottom of the box. The flower was made using Fun Flowers Bigz Die. Once I had all the flower piece and misted them with water and crumpled them up into a ball, then carefully un-crumple and let dry. I used a coordinating color to sponge the edges of each flower and used dimensionls in between each layer. For the Dragonfly I used the retired Pretties Kit and the newly retired Pick a Petal Stamp Set for the wings on Velum paper. If you have any more questions feel free to leave comments.

Saturday Sketch Challenge 209 @ Stamping 411

Well it is Tuesday and I finally got around to doing the Saturday Sketch Challenge. I left the sentiment off for now so I can customize it when I need it. :-) I really enjoy the stamp set Flower Florettes and using embossing powders. For the flower I stamped in versa mark then in Pacific Point, covered with clear embossing powder and heat set with the heat tool. for the "leaf" I stamped in versa mark and used the new Wild Wasabi Embossing Powder. I also used the Big Shot to emboss the background with Flower Garden Embossing Folder. The Designer Paper is also Flower Garden!

A big shout out to all the Dad's out there! You are amazing. I sure miss my Dad but think of him everyday!

This is a tri shutter card I made for my husband. I always envisioned this to be a difficult card to make. However it was easy peasy! Let me know if you are interested in making one! I would love for you to host a workshop and learn to make cards and crafts.

The stamp set is a retired set call Happy Camper and a current set called Just Believe. Woodland Walk as the designer paper that I printed using My Digital Studio! That was a treat...since I didn't have that paper but I did have it as a digital image! So I only printed what I needed. What to learn more about My Digital Studio? Ask me how.....until tomorrow I have another tri shutter card to show off.

I can't believe how long it has been since I posted anything. I have seemed to lost my mojo! So while I try to find it......I will post some of my mother's items that she has been working on. So what have I been up to? Mostly recuperating. I had my final breast reconstruction surgery! I am so glad that is behind me now. I suppose I am feeling a bit lost as since July of 2009 my life has been consumed with being diagnosed with breast cancer, treating IT, recovering from IT, testing positive for BRCA 1 then making the decision to remove my ovaries and breasts and begin the reconstruction process and recovering from those surgeries. I've gone from having long hair to no hair now to some really cute short hair. What a journey........so now it is time to move forward.

Birthday Card for my Husband!

This card is dedicated to my husband who is turning 43 today!

I tried a fun new background by taking my brayer and wrapping rubber bands around the roller. The I rolled in onto versa Mark then onto my paper and then poured gold embossing powder over the inked up areas and set it with the heat gun. I did this a few times until I got the look I was going for. Once that cooled off I sponged a few different colors into the background and then took a paper towel and wiped off the embossed areas. What do you think?

I was asked to contribute to a fundraiser a Bunko Fundraiser that is. So I thought it appropriate to make a Bunko Box with all the accessories. I used retired paper that had dice on it. I used a tin I had on hand to store the dice and the roving bunko which I made from a wood block I covered in white craft ink and embossing powder. Now everybody spells Bunko differently....some Bunco....some Bunko....so I just picked!

I found the cutest card portfolio tutorial on Flowerbug's Inkspot - LeAnn Greff's Blog. Please check out her full blog. Super cute! You can use the Note Cards that Stampin' UP! sells but I didn't have any on hand so I made my own note cards and envelopes. I had one envelope from the note card set so I opened it up and traced it onto designer paper, scored it and glued it together. Worked like a charm. I kept the note cards super simple and used the Ice cream Parlor Designer Paper I earned free during Sale-a-bration. Which by the way there is still time for you to get in on the deals. Sale-a-bration runs through March 31st. Don't delay, buy today! I donated this to a fundraiser I will be attending on Friday for one of the Junior High Schools.

This is the card I made for my hubby for Valentines. I forgot to post it! Silly me. I used a letterpress but first inked it up with Versa Mark, ran in through the Big Shot then put some Glitter embossing powder and then heat embossed. It gave it nice sparkle but not to much.

February Stamp-a-Stack

Here are the cards from my Stamp-a-Stack. The first card I cased from Deann Oliver. The only thing I changed was the stamp set. I used a Sale a bration set called punch bunch. The rest I designed on my own. The second card I used the spring vintage DSP (LOVE LOVE LOVE this paper), Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, a border, scallop oval, large oval & square punches, some hemp twine for the bags and sponges the embossed portion with soft suede. The third card I used Elegant Soiree DP and ran each piece through the Big Shot using the square lattice embossing folder. I was trying to make these cards a bit masculine. The stamp set is Just Believe. The fourth card was very simple, again using an embossing folder (polka dots) and a jumbo roller called baby tees. I left the baby tees blank so they could be customized for boy or girl.

Sale-A-Bration - Box

As most of you know it is Sale-a-bration. I had a customer of mine put it a huge order! She got so many FREE FREE FREE items! Now is the time to buy for all the extra freebies. When the box came this is what it said on it. I had to totally laugh out loud. Can't wait for more boxes to come to see what if they say anything different.

Saturday I will be holding a Stamp-a-Stack. I am very excited about that. All the cards are designed I just have to start the cutting process for 200 cards. OH MY! Did I just really type that??? YEP I will be very busy this week preparing. Each person will be making 20 cards/4 different designs. I will post them this weekend.

I saw cased this card from Monica Weaver. She sells this cool metal sheets that you can emboss. Although I didn't have any of the metal sheets I used Chocolate Chip and embossed it then added some craft white and some silver to look like it was sanded. To see her card click here. I used a different stamp set but the rest is the same as hers. Please take a look.

Valentine Treats

Here are the Valentine Treats my son Ben made for his school. I thought I posted these the other day....Silly me! I wish I could remember where I saw this idea...if it was you let me know. The only thing I changed was I added a hole in the back and slipped some cardstock in so the kids could access the candy without destroying the project. Of course the Big Shot was involved. Ben loved using that. He also cut and assembled all 35 and stamped his name on the back of each one.

Valentine Gift in a box

This was another Valentine gift. A Starbucks Ceramic Mug and some treats

to go with it. The box template came from Bouncy Flouncy Fun Fun Fun. That is just the cutest blog name ever!!! I modified mine for the handle of the cup. I also used retired paper from last year. I used My Digital Studio for the Real Red, Pretty in Pink and Vanilla layers that says Happy Valentines Day. The Red pears are not SU! It was much cutter in person. The photography does not do it justice. HM.....

Double Embossing

This was a fun new technique I learned from Barb Mulikan (I think) called double embossing. First you use your brayer inked up with versa mark on an embossing folder (flat side) then place your paper inside and run through the Big Shot. After that take the paper out and put on some black embossing powder and then heat with the heat gun.

This card was simple. I used the letterpress with classic red ink added some scrunchie ribbon I made by pulling out a thread from the middle and then used sticky tape to adhere it to the card. That's it folks.

I knew I loved this card the moment I saw it on Barb Mullikin's Blog. I didn't have any red glitter paper yet so I used Crystal Effects and some Real Red Chunky Glitter I had on hand. For the Letterpress I just inked it up with Classic Real Red and ran it through he Big Shot, my second love. I must admit I've had the owl punch for quite sometime now and this is the first time I've really used it. He is so easy!

I tell you I just can not live with out my Big Shot. I used it on almost every card. This techniques was done by stamping my images on whisper white paper then running it through the big shot with the Square Lattice embossing folder. Quick and Easy peasy.

I made this card for my downline Tracey who gave me the Stampin' Up! Card Tree. I was so excited! Thank you Tracey! The flower was made by cutting a piece of designer paper 1" by 12" then scored every 1/4". Fold it back and forth, back and forth then adhere the ends and shape into a circle/flower. I used the 1" circle punch to secure the flower to on the back and one on the front and topped it with a button. Instead of thread I used a very slim piece of chocolate chip card stock and took the bone folders to tear the fibers then use it like thread. The ribbon is the "scrunchy" method. That is where you find a fiber in the middle to pull on and the ribbon will start to scrunch. Once you have the length you like place it on your card with some sticky strip. The background is done using the Big Shot and the Polka Dots EF. Love my Big Shot.

BINGO - MDS

My son who is in Kindergarten has certain "sight" words they have to learn. So to try and make it fun I created a BINGO game using My Digital Studio from Stampin' Up! Then we punched 1" circles with the circle punch to cover up the words once they are called out. After I printed them out I mounted them on card stock (not shown here). Next I will make some with numbers.

Lots of Love - Letterpress

I have been experimenting with the Letterpress plates that Stampin' Up! sell. You need to use craft ink and watercolor paper. I didn't have any watercolor paper so I used Shimmery White. The letterpress gives you a "debossed" look. Remember Valentines will be here before you know it. Send a handmade card to your loved ones and friends to let them know how much YOU care.

These are the last of the cards I made. WHEW! I really love the snowflake card used with the Snowflake #2 die and and embossing folder.I was inspired by Inckcredible Creations. The Nutcracker was real fun to make. I was inspired by Stampin' with Jacque. She made one and put it on a box. Super cute. The last one is made using the Letterpress plates that Stampin' Up! sells. I used craft ink then ran it through the Big Shot and colored in the stockings with my blender pens and stamp pads.

I know that I haven't posted any of my own cards lately so today I thought I would post one that I made on Saturday. This card if for my mom, of course! Inspiration was found at Creations on Paper. The following are the punches that were used:

Here is a fun way to make a card with some fun folds. I found the instructions at Valita's Designs and Fresh Folds Blog. The poinsettia was make with the Big Shot and the Leaves #2 Bigz Die (oak leaf). The leaf is a Martha Stewart Holly Leaf.

Ribbon Flower Pin
