Smootch Spritz coming in May

I cased this card right out of the new Summer Mini which will be available in May. I used Log Cabin Smootch Spritz after I stamped by background image in versa mark then used clear embossing powder. The stamp set is Elements of Style. I used retired Hodge Podge. I am still learning how to use the Smootch Spritz in an antiquing way.

Elements of Style

I am loving my new rubbah!!!! This stamp set will be available in May from the Summer Mini. Also there will be Smootch Spritz! Oh what fun this is!!! I stamped the flowers in Stazon Black then colored the flowers with Blush Blossom and Summer Sun. The leaves are Old Olive. I then took my VersaMarker and colored in the flowers and leaves and added clear embossing powder then melted with a heat gun. I sponged the entire paper with Pretty in Pink. The main card stock is Kraft, soon to be renamed....Crumb Cake. I used some of the new Smootch Spritz in Vanilla Shimmer. I am not sure if it shows up in this photo but in person it is real pretty. (If I do say so myself).

The card is stamped with Messages for Mom in black stazon, colored in with markers then I used versamarker pen and colored in the flowers and added clear embossing powder. This set is also available until April 30th. Hopefully they both will be in the new Idea Book and Catalog.

It's my Birthday - Oh Yea!

Look at what I received today for my Birthday! I was tickled pink! This was a gift from my neighborette, friend and stamp club member! Isn't it beautiful? She created this box herself. Inside were some cards that I could add my own sentiment to, a beaded pen, decorated envelopes, postcards and some treats! YUM! Thank you Kathy. You are to kind. I love the flower on the box and can't wait for you to give me a tutorial.

Pheasant Instructions

Instructions by Anita:
I used Close to Cocoa paper for the pheasants body, wing and tail, head and neck.
Body - Wide Oval
Neck-head - Small oval
Back Tail - XL Two Step Bird Punch
Wing - XL Two Step Bird Punch
Top notch - mini horizontal slot punch
Waddle - Heart to Heart Punch (small heart) (use real red paper)
Beak - Wing - XL Two Step Bird Punch (use whisper white paper)
Legs - cut 2 small photo corner punch in gray or bordering blue then re-punch to get the thin legs
Tail Feathers - Cut 3 branches from the XL Two Step Bird Punch in very vanilla paper
Look at the diagram to see how to cut and assemble the bird. Please note that when it says "Jumbo Punch" it really is the Wide Oval Punch.
To color the pheasant I used my Classic Ink Pads and a sponge daubers. Check this website for a picture of a pheasant here.
Head, neck and top notch are in sponged in garden green. With a sponge dauber using a pouncing motion color in head, neck and top notch heavily.
Body, wing, tail - Really Rust classic ink, sponge all around edges and up into body going very lightly in enter of body and top of wing (wing is not attached yet)
Sponge over really rust w/ chocolate chip (but not in middle of the body). Add a little summer sun to center of body and a little on top of wing. Add, very lightly, real red over summer sun blending to the back tail then add real red a little heaver. Add feather markings with black pen and while gel pin (except tail back) go over again with chocolate chip around edges chest and back tail to blend with a sponge dauber.
Tail Feathers: Lightly sponge tail feather edges with Really Rust. go over lightly with Chocolate Chip. Add feather markings in v shape with white gel pen and black pen.
Face: reshape heart - sponge edges with black, cut point edge off white bird wing and sponge and edge with black, add mouth.
Attach heart to beak
Attach to Head/Neck
Attach top notch to back of head/neck
Add eye to red heart (waddle)
White Neck Band is cut with small oval then re-cut making a narrow band.
I hope these instruction make since as I am reading off of Anita's notes.
Good luck!

Color Renovation

Yesterday Stampin' Up! announced that they are doing a Color Renovation! The following colors will be available until June 30, 2010.

Then Stampin' Up! will have a new Color Collection by bringing back some retired In Colors and adding 5 new colors. You will notice that Earth Elements is no longer called Earth Elements and now we have a color collection called Neutrals Collection. Some of the colors have moved from one color family to a new color collection. So if you have a favorite color that is retiring now is the time to stock up. Starting in July Stampin' Up! will be offering various color kits to get you started. They will also have all the in colors and new colors available in markers, water color crayons and pastels chalk. Wahoo!

Let's welcome this change in July. TFL

Lined Envelopes

This is the card I gave to my Mother and Father in law. I posted it awhile back but today I was putting in an envelope and wanted to take a picture of the lining I put inside to match the card. Super easy. Just trace your envelope onto designer paper, cut it out (trim each side just a hair!), then cut off about 3/8" of the bottom of the designer paper. It should slide right into your envelope. Don't forget to add snail to make it stick. This same method can be used with any envelope. TFL

Thank you Amy

I made this purse to hold the cards as a Thank You to Amy for hostessing a workshop at her home. I've been using up retired designer paper. This paper was from last years Sale-a-bration. I stamped the background of the purse with the flower from Vintage Vogue. The large flower was made using the XL Flower Fancy Punch. I punched it 5 times w/ designer paper and crumpled them up then un-crumpled and layered them onto a brad. The little flowers on the bottom left side of the purse were made using the Flower Fusion sizzlit die. I used the same method mentioned earlier. TFL
